CURRICULUM

The educational curriculum of KFA is unique. Apart from fashioning the curriculum after the Nigerian Education System, it also embraces some aspects of the British Curriculum.

A blend of the two curricula will thus evolve a syllabus that enables the students to write the following examinations: International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Nigeria’s West African School Certificate Examinations, as (WASC), National Examination Certificate (NECO) Examination, as well as the International Baccalaureate (IB) To qualify for these examinations and similar ones, at the national and international levels, students are exposed to the following subjects:

- Languages including English, French and one other Modern European Languages

- Mathematics-General and Applied

- Humanities and Social Sciences, including subjects on the WASC, NECO and IJMB curricula in Nigeria

- Creative, Technical and Vocational studies;

- The Sciences, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Students are to select from each of the groups, in fulfilment of the requirements of each examination body.

 
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Provisions are made in the common room for students to socialize. Also, every student has the opportunity to worship according to the tenets of his religion, without any hindrance. Daily physical training also includes participation in alternative sports like Lawn Tennis, Basketball and Volleyball, as well as physical training in the gymnasium.

STUDENTS

The students of the school are from the six geo-political zone of Nigeria encompassing the 36 States of the country and Abuja and are grouped into the following age grades.

  • 13yrs - 14yrs group = Junior
  • 15yrs - 16yrs group = Intermediate
  • 17 - 19yrs group = Elite

The first two groups combine Academics with football while the elite class have management courses in addition to football e.t.c.

KFA offers a full boarding in-school academic programme that ensures students concentrate whilst in school and it’s the first of its kind in Nigeria and sub-Sahara Africa.
