A series of events has been outlined to promote the Academy yearly and position it as one of the foremost Academies in Africa. These activities also form an integral part in achieving the restructuring process of the Academy.

A DAY WITH JOSE
July 3rd - 5th 2009
A 3-day event designed to achieve the following
Host Mr. Jose Mourinho (former Chelsea FC Manager and current Inter Milan Manager) in Ilorin as a guest of Kwara Football Academy. KFA to benefit from Press Conference in Porto to annouce the visit and on arrival in Nigeria.
Use the visit to showcase the Academy and its players to Mr. Mourinho's team of Coaches and Officials with a view to generating interest in the players in the Academy.
As part of the visit, there will be a Seminar Coaching Clinic and Training Session for coaches and other interested parties within and outside Nigeria with a view to enhancing the Brand profile of the Academy in particular and Nigeria in general as a leading center of Football exellence.. |

UNVEILING / LAUNCH AND GALA AWARD NIGHT
To re-awaken interest in the KFA brand and the academy
- To provide a platform for the promotion of the re-engineered KFA as a private sector driven project
- To kindle the interest of the private sector as to the presence of this prime sports property
- To serve as one of the primary sources of generating funds for sustaining the Academy.
The event will be in 2 stages:
i. The Unveiling/Launch of the Academy
This will be a morning / mid afternoon event that will take place in the premises of the Academy. It will essentially involve naming of structures on the premises by prominent citizens who have donated or will donate in no small measure to the coffers of the Academy. The highlight will be the main unveiling of the Academy by a top football personality such as FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, or CAF President, Issa Hayatou, to be supported as Special Guest by no less a personality than Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria as well as the Minister/Chairman, NSC, other State Governors, etc. Top football personalities as well as Corporate Chieftains with passion for football will be invited as guests and possible donors / contributors.
ii. Gala / Award dinner
This will be held in the evening of the same day, and will involve presentation of awards to sponsors, donors and selected top football personalities such as The President, FIFA President Sepp Blatter, CAF President Issa Hayatou, Corporate Sponsors, donors and ex-internationals.

2. KFA NEWSLETTER – FROM FEBRUARY 2009
- The KFA Newsletter will be published on a bi-monthly basis with the first edition scheduled for release and of February 2009. The publication will traditionally focus on the activities of KFA and related stories that border on football development worldwide. It goes without saying therefore that issues concerning KFA preparations for local and international events, corporate support, etc. will feature prominently in the publication. The newsletter also provides an opportunity to showcase sponsors and donors who support the KFA
- The KFA Newsletter will be distributed free in public institutions, sponsors’ premises and other prime locations, with a print run of 40,000 – 50,000 copies per edition.

3. KFA MONTH – NOVEMBER 2009
- The month will be dedicated to consolidating KFA fund raising activities. In this month, sponsors, supporters and friends of KFA would be able to associate KFA with their sales activities. In addition, KFA activities will be intensified within this month so as to provide a climax for communications and leveraging programmes for the sponsors.
- Football activities would be staged to allow opportunities for sponsors to enjoy media exposure. Charity games, concerts and fund raising events would be organised within this month to properly highlight KFA activities.
- In addition to the above programmes, KFA will organise its own series of events to be hosted during this period, chief of which is The Academy Cup.

THE ACADEMY CUP
The main purpose of this event is to serve as a means of continuous assessment of the development of KFA players as against their peers in other academies. This event will also serve as a means of delivering branding and promotional benefits to sponsors, raising additional funds for the Academy, as well as publicising the Academy to the general public.
The format is as follows:
- A 16-team tournament between various selected Academies in Nigeria and the West Coast of Africa in the short term. In the long run, this event will encompass football academies from all over the world and serve as a meeting point for football scouts from all over the world
- The duration will be two weeks
- Prizes and trophies as well as merchandising items will be given to winners and participants
